As a BAU Data Engineer, this position will be responsible for managing and organising data, making it accessible for business operations within the insurance industry.

This is a 12 months agency contract role - renewable/extendable contract.

Location - Hyderabad, India.

The purpose of this position is to design and operate IT workplace products across Asia Pacific.

• Operation and maintenance of umbrella monitoring solution and central monitoring functions e.g. event management, alerting or service-tree
• Integration of existing monitoring environments e.g. SAP Focused Run, VMWare VCenter or Microsoft SCOM
• Orchestrate event-triggered automated actions e.g. health scripts

Provide Level 1, 2 & 3 technical support. Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience by design comprehensive solutions to fix complex business problems & develop software to integrate with internal back end systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Atlassian Expertise: Provide in-depth technical support, troubleshooting complex issues across Jira (Software, Service Management), Confluence, and Crowd.
• Customization and Configuration: Customize JIRA and Confluence to meet the specific needs of our organization, including creating JIRA projects/queries/reports, and configuring workflows and custom fields, issue types, and permission schemes.
• User Training and Support: Provide training, comprehensive documentation, and support to users to ensure they can effectively use JIRA and Confluence for project management, issue tracking, collaboration, and information sharing.
• Operation and Management: collaborate within an operational team, adept at swiftly responding to diverse issues with a robust understanding of various areas of computer science and web application technologies.
• Documentation and Troubleshooting: Maintain documentation for JIRA and Confluence configurations, customizations, and integrations. Identify and resolve issues and errors within JIRA and Confluence, working closely with the IT and support teams.
• Upgrade and security patches: Perform upgrades and apply security patches to Data Center versions of Jira, Confluence, and Crowd within a clustered environment.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance of JIRA and Confluence and implement optimizations as needed to ensure system stability and efficiency.
• Plugin/add-on Development: Develop custom plugins and extensions for JIRA and Confluence to enhance functionality and meet business requirements.
• Security and Compliance: Configure and maintain JIRA, Confluence, and Crowd following security and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in customizing and configuring JIRA (Software and Service Management), Jira Workflow, Confluence, and Crowd. 5 or more years of relevant job experience in a large-scale (3000+ users) enterprise-level environment (data center version, not cloud version)
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in various areas of computer science, web application development, network, security, and user experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills including user support and documentation.
• Exceptional teamwork and the ability to engage stakeholders at every level, guided by leadership direction and in strict adherence to company policies.
• Experience with Groovy scripting (ScriptRunner app) and Atlassian REST APIs.
• Linux system administration skills.
• Database management expertise, including advanced SQL proficiency.
• Experience with plugin development using technologies like Atlassian SDK, Java, JavaScript, and REST APIs
